The May Fourth Movement was a complete patriotic movement against imperialism and feudalism and the beginning of China's new-democratic revolution. In 1939, the Shaanxi Youth Salvation Federation of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region set the May 4th as the China Youth Festival. During the Youth Festival, a variety of commemorative events will be held throughout China. Young people will also concentrate on various social volunteering and social practice activities, and many places will hold adult ceremonies during the Youth Day.
